It wasn’t love at first sight
Yet the attraction we shared radiated like George and Weezy
We were moving on up but we just didn’t have a piece of pie by all accounts we owned the pie
Whenever we were together our souls would connect he was the melody and I was the harmony creating the perfect rhythm to this beautiful love song
But secretly we were two wounded vessels battered and scorned from the storms of our past
Wearing our battle wounds like designer clothes walking down Rodeo Drive
Hungry for the fantasy fixated in our dreams from a false narrative created by society
Me the damsel in distress and him my knight in shining armor
Swooping in to save me from the agony of my rejected soul
Both of us longing for this Jack and Jill love affair that only exists in grade school nursery rhymes
Our complicated love really had us living like emotionless robots
Are we holding onto a once upon a time Or happily ever after?
Ze I like. This describes a lot.

The title alone is full of truth. The question at the end is one we all have to answer because we all have a past that we bring to the relationship. Being part of a relationship definitely reveals so much of what needs to be healed. It’s a blessing if you honor yourself and become more self aware. Then the love story will have the ending YOU desire. Love this post!
