In A Moment

We Don’t Know When

We didn’t know today would be the last time we heard your infectious laughter that tickled our insides an erased the unspoken sadness hidden within.

We didn’t know last night would be the last time your warm embrace would melt our hearts and rid us of any insecurities we carried.

We didn’t know yesterday when you waved goodbye it was your last earthly farewell and now we hold captive our last moment within our minds.

We didn’t know this morning when we sat at the breakfast table filing our stomachs with nutrients to fuel us for the day it would be our last time to break bread together.

We didn’t know

Remember in this moment.

A moment can change the trajectory of our lives. Savor each moment and allow it to melt within your mind.

  1. These words are so true. What a blessing to read thoughts that express a sincere depth of our emotions from deep within. These words also give a breath of freshness for reflection, for what we could not say from our heart. It is truly a loving prayer of expression for our spirit within.

  2. I know many people can relate to this piece. Memories are where our love ones continue to live. That’s why we hold on to things that use to belong to them and go to the places they feel near. After the loss of a loved one, remembrance and gratitude are major parts of the healing process. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽
