The Uninvited Guest

PARALYZED

I didn’t see it coming

SUFFOCATING

Trying to process the news

CONFUSED

Grappling with this new norm

CHEATED

We dreamed dreams together

HEARTBROKEN

Because you are unable to respond

REGRETS

Convinced we had more time

SORROW

Needing to say “I love you “again

GUILT

Why now?

LONGING

To hear your voice

THANKFUL

For our time together

GRATEFUL

Of the beautiful memories we shared

BLESSED

To call you my forever friend

CHAMELEON

It determines the situation in which it decides to reveal itself

BOUNDARIES

Enters within the dwelling of your soul ignoring all the do not trespass warnings

DEATH

The uninvited guest

REALITY

I wasn’t ready for it to be you.

RESPONSIBILTY

Live a life pleasing to God

Love as if you’ve never been hurt

Forgive as you have been forgiven

Be ready because this life is not FOREVER

After the death of my mother, my passion to write was ignited. It became an encouraging force to others as well as my therapy. Through my healing journey Visionfyah blog was birthed. My vision statement is to be a light in the darkness for the broken, hurting and lonely people unable to deal with life on life’s terms, and to be a voice for those who cannot be heard. Visionfyah is a platform to express thought provoking thoughts and perspectives.

    1. I’ve been struggling to write this past month because death was consuming my surroundings. While I understand death is journey we all must take it’s been happening so often and watching my family and friends go through the grieving process caused so many emotions.

  1. This piece is profound and the analogies you used are extremely powerful. Your descriptive choice of words really made me think about life and what are experiencing in this present day & time. Death continues to leave us in a turmoil state of mind and will always be uninvited, we must keep praying for peace and understanding. Thank you so much for the wake up call. Your writing is impeccable.
