Only realizing it is you
Do you remember holding marathon conversations with your besties saying “oh if it was me I would’ve done this or that?”
Now realizing it is you
Your mind is so scrambled you can’t say anything without releasing the monsoon swelling in your throat.
Do you remember scouring social media playing detective to get the breaking news about someone else’s soap opera?
Only to realize you are now a cast member of a Real Housewives show and your drama is what everyone is really chatting about.
Do you remember when you were moving on up getting a piece of the pie?
Now everyone is eating pie and you don’t even have a cookie.
You see it was always fun and games when it wasn’t you!
Now it is you!

Sis, as always you have a way of writing that makes us reflect. So many times people never stop to think that the shoe could some day be on the other foot. And when it is their turn to wear that shoe it may not be that comfortable. It is a really bad look to always be judging others because one day it will be your turn to be judged.

This has happened to me. I ate those words bitterly, but learned that I am human. I am flawed. We all are. It is so easy to judge others or have strong opinions about another’s situation. It’s like an American past time. I’ve learned that when I have strong options about something is because it has struck a chord with me. I’m careful now because I know that it is only a matter of time before I have to answer that same knock. Another great thinking piece.

Social media has now somehow managed to give people license to hurt other people. It is often misused to spread misinformation. Yeah the drama is entertaining until it’s you. Thank you for allowing me to reflect.
